13178577_10153489629230718_3261153414087841668_nAt this year’s Annual Meeting members were treated to a tour of the museum’s collection.  As guests wandered through the aisle of artifacts in the east side of the building, Board Members explained their historic significance, as well as, how the collection is managed.  The open house also provided members an opportunity to see IMG_0698the new spray insulation that has been added to the ceiling, which completed phase II of a five phase plan to renovate this part of the building.  See more photos of the renovation and read more about what the renovation included.

To celebrate this accomplishment, members enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and drinks served by event sponsor Macomb Hy-Vee. President Carmen Keist recognized the service of the museum’s Directors and Advisory Council members during the past year. She presented the following slate of directors for the 2016-17 year and asked for member’s approval.  All were in favor.

Museum director, Sue Scott, introduced and thanked this year’s interns: Katie Dossett, Daniel Williams, and David Heusel. Volunteers Anna Bower and Karen Mencel where acknowledged for their over 500 hours of volunteer service each.

IMG_7578The evening concluded with guests viewing the current exhibit, The Ties That Bind: A History of Wedlock which will be on view through June 25.

We are looking forward to another year of compelling exhibits and intriguing programs, all being possible with the ongoing support of our members!
