On Tuesday, May 5th, we’ll conclude our 40th Birthday year with our Annual Meeting for members. The meeting will be held at the Western Illinois Museum located at 201 South Lafayette Street in Macomb, Illinois, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
As a thank you for your membership, we are pleased to invite you to a program with special guest Mark McDonald, who will present, Telling Illinois Stories. Mark McDonald has worked in television and media relations for more than 30 years as a news reporter and anchor, public affairs specialist and now, as an Emmy award-winning chronicler of life in Central and West Central Illinois. When given the opportunity to interview Barack Obama he will have the distinction of having interviewed our past four presidents at some time in their careers. While he enjoyed his positions in television news and media affairs, his present job as producer and host of “Illinois Stories” is his favorite.
Mark has featured the Western Illinois Museum’s exhibits and programs in a number of Illinois Stories. Most recently, he featured the current exhibit, Greatest Hits of Our History and George Berry’s New Salem Village. The program can be found on YouTube and the museum’s website.
During the Annual Meeting you can support the changes we are making and have a little fun! Help us defray the cost of installing the floor with a donation and show your support by writing your name and a message on the current floor. Make your mark and continue your positive influence on the preservation of our region’s history.
