Celebrate the season with a festive square dance featuring caller Chanel Lane and live music by the Lane Family Band. Bring a partner, or come and meet new friends. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
The dance is part of the Dickens on the Square festivities that will be held on Macomb’s Courthouse Square. The American form of the Square Dance has its roots in 17th Century England and became popular across Europe. Coming to America with the settlers, it is now considered a folk dance. Each region of the country adapted the dance to create unique forms. What better way to get into the spirit of the holiday with a little dancing even Charles Dickens would be proud of.
Refreshments will be served. There is a suggested $5 donation at the door for the caller and musicians.
