Hallo~Wine
A spirited Halloween party

The Western Illinois Museum is planning some scary fun! The Hallo~Wine party promises an evening of music, historical ghosts, and wine, and will be held on Saturday, October 22nd with doors opening at 6:30 pm.  This year’s celebration is an action-packed, local history filled story based on the 1985 movie, Back to the Future. Go along with “Marty McComb” and Doc Brown as they try to keep our city safe and ensure artifacts are preserved for the future. Re-enactors will depict Sheriff John Bliven, watchman Jack Frost, professor and radio announcer, Tug Haddock, and others who will haunt the museum’s hallways eager to once again tell their tales. No worries, we’ll be back in time for Halloween.

This year’s musical program begins at 7:00 pm and will be given by Prima Materia, a group whose indefinable style is created by members Brian Daw, Zach Simpson, David Heatherly, and Tiffany Liston. Following in the string band tradition, adding a washboard and kazoo for flavor, they create memorable renditions of current songs –if they don’t get interrupted by ghosts! For more information and to watch a video of the band, visit their facebook page.

Hy-Vee catering will provide a cash bar complimented by a selection of fine cheeses. Suggested $5 donation at the door.

Event sponsor is The Macomb Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The museum is located at 201 South Lafayette Street, one block south of Macomb’s Courthouse Square.  For more information, contact the museum at 309.837.2750 or info@wimuseum.org.
